CONSULAR SERVICES
The Brazilian Embassy in Accra has a Consular Section that deals with documentation required by Brazilian citizens such as passports, power of attorney, certificates etc. It also issues visas for foreign citizens and legalizes foreign documents to be valid in Brazil.
The Consular Section is open to the public from Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 1:00pm.
Visa Requirements
There are specific requirements which must be met by applicants to qualify for a visa. The visa consular will determine whether you qualify for the visa.
Each applicant for a visa must submit these forms and documentation as explained below:
Fill out your application online “e-form application. Select scedv.serpo.gov.br. You must complete and submit your application on a computer. Hand written or typed applications are not acceptable. After completing the “e-form application”, the applicant will be provided with a confirmation page that includes some biographical information and a bar code with a confirmation number. Applicants must bring this confirmation page with them together with all required documents for interview. You must fill out this form completely and accurately. If your application is not completed accurately, you will forfeit your appointment.
- Passport valid for at least six months with photocopies of pages 31 & 32
- Original and photocopy of Birth Certificate
- Original and photocopy of Police Clearance Certificate which is valid for at least six months
- 1 passport size photograph
- Original and photocopy of Yellow fever vaccination
- Airline reservation, with date of departure and arrival
- Hotel reservation, with date of departure and arrival*; booked with Credit Card; [We do not accept bookings or reservation from travel agencies]
- Original Bank statement in the name of the visa applicant with an amount of GH¢5000 or more [We do not accept statement from employers] APPLICANT MUST PRESENT HIS/HER CHECKBOOK OR ATM CARD LINKED TO THE ACCOUNT
- Proof of employment by means of a signed letter from the employer on company letterhead legalized by a notary public or if student, letter from recognized school or university
- Invitation letter in Portuguese or English from person, institution, company, event organizer or sponsor, addressed and presented to the Brazilian Embassy, giving full details and reasons for the invitation, in the case of Business visa

(a) Jurisdiction
The Consulate-Section of the Brazilian Embassy in Accra issues visas for residents in Ghana and other countries; although visa applicant from any part of the world can apply for visas here in Ghana, it may be more difficult to qualify if applicant do not have residence permit in Ghana and other required documentations. Your permit to stay in a particular country is very important to this Embassy and any Brazilian Embassy or Consulate.
(b) First Entry
You must enter Brazil within 90 days from the date your visa was issued; otherwise that visa will no longer be valid. After entering the country, you may stay up to 90 days from the date of entry, unless otherwise stated in the visa.
(c) International Vaccination Certificate
All applicants must present a Yellow Fever International Certificate upon entering Brazil.
(d) General Observation
- Visa Application will only be received between the hours of 9am – 1pm
- If applicants are able to fill our “e-form application
- If an applicant decides to go through the old process by filling visa forms [un-electronic], we would require one month processing a visa
- Please note that the Brazilian Embassy does not issue same day visas, (unless in case of a documented medical emergency or Diplomatic and Service Passport)
- After submitting application at the Embassy, the consular would inform date of collection
- Please note that no visa whatsoever will be issued at any Brazilian airports
- Visa applicants must submit their own application to the Embassy for assessment and interview
- Kindly note that requirements and fees for Vitur ( Tourist ) and Vitem II (Business) visas might be different from Others ( such as; Vitem I, Vitem III, Vitem IV, Vitem v, Vitem VI, Vitem VII)

Tourist - GH¢40.00
Business visa GH¢120.00
If consultation to Brazil is required, GH¢50 non refundable fee will be charged.
